Sweet Reads Review:
What a ride!!! This book has angst all over it! I have wanted to read this book since it came out, and when J. Sterling agreed to have me feature it on Sweet Reads I was on cloud nine! So I waited…once I started last week I couldn’t put it down! This book almost killed me, talk about a roller coaster for your emotions! I was up, down, laughed, cried, and wanted to punch Jack Carter in the nose!

With insecurities looming for both of them there are lots of trust issues that come up, understandably so. They realize that if they want to be together they are gonna have to break down the walls of uncertainty and learn to love and trust one another. Jack pretty much sums it up in one statementSo there is a BIG BIG BIG surprise (event, disaster, mistake, decision) in this story that about ripped my heart out…damn you J. Sterling! I can’t say any more about it, but you will understand when you read it. All I’ll say is that I was pissed, I even might have shed a couple tears AND I might have even called J. Sterling a sadist! LOL (Sorry girl!) BUT….in the end, I was happy with the outcome. It was slow and agonizing at times, but as you know, I am a realist when it comes to stories and if you right the wrong the next day and don’t work through it realistically, I won’t believe your book. Thank You Jenn, for writing it in a way that was painful, yet believable.
“I love you. I’m sure I’ll fuck it up because I don’t know what the hell I’m doing. Just promise me that you’ll be patient with me. Grade me on a learning curve or something?”Yep…kinda fell in love with him from that point on.
Jack and Cassie are great together. Both beautifully broken with walls built around them like Ft. Knox, but time, trust and love does heal wounds that can’t be seen from the outside. All and all, this book was wonderful! And you know what’s even better? The Game Changer: A Novel (Book 2) comes out TOMORROW!!!!! Ummmm….yeah, guess what I’m doing at midnight tonight?! Go download both...and enjoy your evening of reading! You can thank me tomorrow. :-)Rating:
